Need to be able to extend code expiration date in canvas external tool Nearpod LTI 1.3

I need to be able to adjust the due dates in the Nearpod on Canvas using the external tool. There are 3new issues with this extension.
- Links now expire in 14 days as opposed to 30 (previously).
- Nearpod's created in Canvas do not have an option to extend the due date.
- The due date for the Nearpod cannot be extended in Nearpod until a student (at least 1) completes an assignment and allows Nearpod to draw and create a report; it does not appear in Nearpod from the Canvas External Tool creation until a student submits at least one assignment.
This is making life extremely hectic for a 100% online teacher, teaching multiple preps across 8-10 different subjects at any given time. If there is a way to do this currently, please share. If not, I need this corrected asap, or I am going to have to find a different format for my assignments. It has become enormously overwhelming in the last few weeks with the number of students bombarding my instant messenger and email needing the same assignments reset over and over - and our program does not emphasize a true "due date" so this can be open for months. Thanks!
