Hi Lindsey Raby! Closed captions are available for YouTube videos where they have been manually uploaded by the creator or community. To see these, click the captions icon on the bottom right. Captions are not yet available in the instances where they are auto-generated on YT vs manually added. Hope this helps!

Captions are essential for Deaf students who cannot hear the reading of the script. Please make sure all videos are captioned. Thank you.

Mariana Rego: - it does NOT help. I have videos from creators who has manually added their own captions and it still does not work for Nearpod. This is a shame since I have several D/HH students (as I'm also HH too) and this is not accessibility friendly.

Carol Davis: Hi Carol. I'm on your side! As I mentioned, if the video owner uploaded their own captions, they should appear. If they're not appearing, that is a bug. Are you able to provide some examples of videos with creator-uploaded captions that are not showing up in Nearpod, so we can investigate? Thanks for all you do!

Mariana Rego: This is not an option anymore. It used to be there but when the new video uploader was introduced (with the ability to add questions like edpuzzle), that feature is gone and has been for a long time. Please find a way to correct this!
