Autofill Student Names setting does not apply to existing Student-Paced lessons

While this feature is great in theory, it is very difficult for younger students to navigate independently. I initially had Autofill toggled ON, but after seeing students struggle with the Google sign-in process, I turned the setting OFF.
However, I discovered that existing Student-Paced lessons that were already shared still required students to sign in, even after the setting was turned off. This meant students were unexpectedly prompted to log in, and the only workaround was resharing new links for each lesson.
This behavior is extremely confusing for young learners and teachers alike. If the Autofill Student Names setting is turned OFF, it should also retroactively apply to existing Student-Paced lessons, so teachers don’t have to reshare links for the change to take effect.
A global setting should behave consistently across all lessons—new and existing—to prevent confusion and classroom disruptions.
Thank you for considering this improvement. I believe adjusting this behavior would significantly improve usability for elementary classrooms.
